Our Beliefs

What We Believe

At St. James, our faith is centered in Jesus Christ, revealed in Scripture and confessed in the historic Church. We stand joyfully in the Lutheran tradition, belonging to both the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC) and the North American Lutheran Church (NALC).

We believe in one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who creates, redeems, and sustains all things.

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, the final authority in matters of faith and life (2 Timothy 3:16–17).

We are saved not by our works, but by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8–9).

We believe Baptism and Holy Communion are means of God’s grace—signs through which He delivers forgiveness, life, and salvation.

The Church is the body of Christ, called to gather for worship, grow in faith, and go in mission to the world (Acts 2:42–47).

God calls us to love Him, love our neighbors, and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18–20).
